The Glow Up

Don't rush your glow up

Hey Y'all! I hope all is well with you guys. (If things aren't well, just remember, Puerto Rico is completely powerless annnnndddd you're still breathing). Why my highlight and curls popping though! This Palm Print Jumpsuit is perfect for many occasions. The ultra wide-leg and extremely classy halter top makes this outfit flattering and comfortable simultaneously. You don't need to add much at all to this look, but I'm extra, so of course I added my new hot pink boots from ShopAkira. Now I ain't gone lie! They were VERY affordable, but they hurt so damn bad! It was also my first time wearing them, so I'm going to stay open minded. To be completely honest, I can't return them now, so I'm gone wear the sole off of them uncomfortable mofos. (I don't like to waste my coins)  Nevertheless, they are bomb. As always you can shop this look below.

Can we take a minute to address "The Glow Up" Something everyone in life aspires to do. Man, am I the only one that be like Jesus, I'm almost 80 and I'm not where I want to be in life yet. The journey to success can be long, lonely, and discouraging. But why do we rush our glow up? My patient said because millennials are microwave babies (we don't want to work that hard for anything, & we want everything fast) and lowkey it's true. With technology and social media platforms, it's easy to get discouraged by watching what other people "have" or what they've accomplished that you haven't. First, let me address that we ALL know people love to do it for the gram and the snaps, so don't ever compare your real life to controlled online content. The grass is often not greener on the other side. When you rush the process you miss out on opportunities for your character to develop. Rushing will only lead you to making temporary decisions based off of emotions and A LOT of anxiety! You will be disappointed often, You will struggle, You will have people discourage you, You will get turned down, You will procrastinate, You will lose friends, You will miss out on opportunities, You may even be broke for a while, but if you keep working hard, you will SUCCEED.

I'm now learning to move at my own pace and focus on the directions more than the speed. It may take me years to be where I want to be or I may blow up tomorrow (fingers crossed) but either way I'm enjoying my glow up process. Some days you're going to plan a productive day, but instead find yourself sitting on the couch naked eating chips binge watching Insecure. (My life) IT'S OKAY to take a break sometimes and admire life around you, it's SHORT. God doesn't let you into heaven based off your glow up process or how many followers you have on IG. I heard (from a friend) they also don't accept cash or debit. You'll only have this day once, you'll only be this age once. Embrace the struggle. Glow up on YOUR time.
